Throughout January, Sabahan players travelled as far as Kuching while also competing locally in Sabah, all in pursuit of an invite to Flesh and Blood’s most prestigious annual event — the National Championship. This is where players prove to everyone that they are among the best in Malaysia.

On the 10th of January, our fellow Sabahans flew to Kuching to compete in a Road to Nationals event, aiming to secure one of the first four invites as early as possible. After a gruelling eight rounds of Flesh and Blood, the first two Sabahan players to qualify were Jack, piloting his favourite deck, Gravy Bones, and Barmby, with his signature hero, Verdance, Thorn of the Rose.

Kudos as well to Jiajer and Harraz, who both put up strong performances but narrowly missed the Top 4, making them ineligible to receive an invite at that event.

Last Chance Invite at TinyRobot

Over the weekend of 18th January 2026, TinyRobot hosted our first Road to Nationals event. The tournament drew 16 passionate players, consisting of 13 Sabahans and 3 players from Kuching (seeking revenge for the invite we “stole” earlier in the month).

The event was filled with ups and downs — clutch moments, unexpected upsets, and intense matches throughout the day. Ultimately, all players walked away having fun and gained valuable experience, ensuring continued growth within the local Flesh and Blood community.

And finally…

The Top 4 players who qualified for Nationals through the TinyRobot RTN are:
Jeime (Sabah), Afiq (Sabah), Harraz (Sabah), and Hensley (Sarawak).

Representing Borneo at Nationals

With these results, Malaysia Nationals will potentially see five Sabahan players representing our state and our local game store. When combined with Sarawak’s qualifiers, Borneo will have a total of 12 representatives this year — all of whom earned their slots through Road to Nationals qualifiers.

It is worth noting that a last chance registration will also be available for interested players. However, these slots are extremely limited and do not guarantee participation. As of the publication of this article, 12 players will officially be representing Borneo in Flesh and Blood Nationals.
