The PlayStation Experience 2016 10 Amazing Highlights

Amazing New Games Announcement

The PlayStation Experience 2016 is full of amazing treats & then some for fans at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. I just couldn’t wrap around my head on how much games were unveiled at the PlayStation Experience 2016 compared to this year E3 2016.

Without further ado, here are the highlights of the most anticipated games that are coming soon in 2017.

Nioh

Nioh is an action RPG game developed by Team Ninja, set in what appears to be war torn country of Japan in the 1600, which was overrun by monsters & demons based on Japanese folklore. The game protagonist, a western samurai name William must survive the dangers.

In this new trailer, we are presented with as rather short new gameplay footage featuring new characters, places & skills. The game will release in February 2017.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

Capcom bringing us the latest instalment of fighting game, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite. The trailer feature a 2 vs 2 match between Ryu & Megaman fighting against Captain Marvel & Iron Man. The gameplay look spectacular where it shows the use of Marvel’s Infinity Stone to unleash cool powers.

However, some people were concerned about the content availability since Capcom earlier release, Street Fighter V, received a widespread criticism for lacking content. Capcom has rest assured that the game will be “feature-rich” on day one. Official date is not yet announced, but it is said to be released some time in 2017.

Nier: Automata

Nier: Automara, an action role playing game developed by PlatinumGames, is a follow up of the previous instalment of Nier series. The game is set in distant dystopian future of earth where players battle robots from another world.

The trailer is packed with lots of action gameplay, in which largely features open world environment with role playing elements. You can try out the PS4 gameplay demo on the 22nd December 2016. The game is set to release in March 2017

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

Bandai Namco Entertainment giving us a glimpse of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom‘s gameplay with a new trailer. Developed by Level-5, Ni no Kuni II continues the fantasy-themed, featuring a real-time battle system that improves on the original game, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch on the PlayStation 3.

The official release date is yet to be announced, but it is said to be released some time in 2017.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard

Capcom releases another Resident Evil 7 biohazard trailer with better view of the farmhouse where the game take place and some characters that were featured in previous trailers & demo.

Resident Evil 7 game is a huge departure from the action oriented of the recent Resident Evil title. Instead, the game takes us back to the classic horror in the very 1st Resident Evil game. Capcom announced that together with this trailer, a final demo will give us a glimpse of what the final game feels like. The game is set to release in January 2017.

The Last of Us Part II

The Last of Us Part II, a sequel to the critically acclaimed The Last of Us by Naughty Dog has been unveiled. It appears that the story set many years since the last game with grown up Ellie & Joel is present. Nothing much is known on what happen in between the period of the end of the previous game. It seems Ellie is in the path of vengeance.

We wouldn’t know for sure as Naughty Dog haven’t reveal the release date.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

You would think the Uncharted series has reach its conclusion, but nope it hasn’t. Naugthy Dog revealed a standalone DLC which you don’t actually need Uncharted 4 game to enjoy it as it is a standalone game. Set in a war-torn country, the Uncharted: The Lost Legacy follows Chloe as she looks to meet up with an unknown contact. Returning to the series are Chloe Frazer from Uncharted 2 and Nadine Ross from Uncharted 4.

No official launch date yet but it will be release some time in 2017.

Yakuza Kiwami & Yakuza 6

This is quite a surprise. We’ll be getting not one but two Yakuza games. Yakuza: Kiwami is a remake of the original Yakuza game that was released on PS2 back in 2005. It sounds like this isn’t a mere PS2 port with better textures but everything such as graphics & audio are reworked from the ground up. Yakuza Kiwami is expected to release in the on the PS4 sometime in the 2017. 

As for Yakuza 6, the latest installment in the Yakuza franchise, the game was already released in Japan earlier this month, finally has official announcement for English speaking countries. However, if we want to enjoy the new adventure of Kazuma Kiryu, we have to wait until 2018.

Gran Turismo Sport

Despite being delayed, Polyphony Digital released new trailer detailed the game is both 4K & HDR capable. Of course to enjoy these, you will need a PS4 Pro to enjoy the amazing detail of cars racing around the track. PS VR also mentioned in the trailer but only limited to certain aspect of the game.

The only hint of release schedule is the game will release some time in 2017.

Crash Bandicoot N-sane Trilogy

The unofficial PlayStation lovable mascot is back with remastered trilogy, Crash Bandicoot N-sane Trilogy. The game features the remaster of the first 3 PSOne classic titles Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. These 3 games are reworked from scratch which would be closely identical to the original with current generation graphics.

The game will be release some time in 2017.
